Apple expected to announce film download service


Apple is expected to announce a new film download service this week, according to reports.

The company is tipped to be launching the service through iTunes, its market-leading digital music store, to tie in with new iPods with enhanced video capabilities, including a larger screen, that are also expected to be launched within the next few weeks.

The news comes just days after Amazon unveiled is Unbox service, from which users can download thousands of TV programmes as well as films from studios including 20th Century Fox and Warner Brothers. Content can be played on both PCs and MP3 players.
